dedicated to clinical service, research and academic pursuits The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member specializing in medical genetics research and clinical care for oncology patients. This position will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with
experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the appropriate department or division at UW, based upon board certification(s) of successful applicant. The specific rank at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW’s Faculty Code Section 24-34. The position will involve participation in the clinical and
instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division, the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Cancer Genetics and Prevention Clinic, and other Divisions, as applicable. Fred Hutch and UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The selected candidate will participate in ongoing clinical and laboratory research programs related to cancer genetics and precision prevention. In addition, the candidate
will have the opportunity and resources to develop their own clinical research programs. Teaching responsibilities will involve oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations, and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community. The successful candidate will be appointed on the Clinician Scholar track and will
have protected time for research, teaching, and mentorship. This position will be expected to serve on the cancer genetics clinical service, which includes multidisciplinary risk assessment and cancer risk reduction for complex and high-risk individuals. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch with a joint appointment at University of Washington in the appropriate division.
