Assistant/Associate Professor of Education- Literacy CoordinatorPrincipal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:All faculty responsibilitiesTeach undergraduate and graduate courses using evidence-based instructional practices aligned with state and national standards.Develop, revise, and assess literacy curriculum to ensure alignment with educator preparation requirements and current research.Advise and support teacher
candidates in academic planning, licensure requirements, and professional growth.Collect, analyze, and use assessment data to support continuous program improvement and accreditation efforts.Engage in scholarship and professional development to remain current in literacy research, instructional practices, and educator preparation.Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work, program

Minimum QualificationsKnowledge/Education Experience Licensure, Registration, CertificationCandidates must hold an earned master’s degree from an accredited institution. Years of teaching experience will be considered.Candidates must have a minimum of three years teaching experience and have an LOE score of 4 or 5 in the K-12 setting.Candidates must hold a valid TN teaching license Desired
QualificationsKnowledge/Education Experience Licensure, Registration, CertificationDoctoral degree is preferred.Knowledge of Tennessee's licensure procedures is desired.Literacy experience is preferred.Candidates with endorsements in Administration, Reading/Literacy, Special Education, Elementary, and/or Secondary are desired.
