Surgical and Radiological Sciences at the UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Comparative Ophthalmology. RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical: This position has a 50% clinical effort assignment to the Ophthalmology Service of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), including night and weekend coverage, shared with 5 other ophthalmology

faculty. When on clinical service, the individual will be responsible for directing, instructing and supervising veterinary students and house officers; providing health care and service to patients; and advising and consulting with referring veterinarians and clients. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the medical and surgical management of ophthalmic diseases of all species brought to or cared for

by the VMTH. Research and Creative Work: The development of a creative and productive basic and/or clinically oriented research program in vision science, including publication of results in professional/scientific journals, is a fundamental and indispensable requirement of the position. Development of an extramurally-funded research program is expected. Individual will provide leadership in directing research

projects of DVM students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students.
