All candidates must be eligible to work and live in the U.S. Department Child Development, Literacy, and Special Education - 260200 Working Location (City, State) Boone, NC Position Summary Information Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) or closely related field by July 31, 2027 (ABD will be

considered for the first year of this position with a reduction in rank and salary (see details below). Evidence of at least three years of experience working with children and families in community or educational settings Areas of Interest (No Minimum Level Required) Candidates must demonstrate: Evidence of university-level teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, in child and family studies,

early childhood education, or a closely related field; Evidence of potential for an active research agenda related to child and family studies, early childhood education, or a closely related field, including at least one peer-reviewed publication; We are looking for candidates who bring expertise in at least TWO of the additional following areas (in terms of teaching and/or research). Please explicitly identify and

discuss at least TWO areas in your letter of interest: Expertise in child development from birth through adolescence, including variations in development. Expertise in family dynamics and parenting, including parent-child interactions and the influence of families on children’s development. Expertise in evidence-based instruction, methods instruction, and meaning-making across various content areas in early childhood
