Assistant/Associate Professor - Civil Engineering (Transportation) Assistant/Associate Professor - Civil Engineering (Transportation) Full-time Angola, Indiana Summary The Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Trine University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor with a preferred start date of August 2026. We seek a dynamic,

student-centered educator who will contribute to our mission of promoting intellectual and personal development through professionally focused and formative learning opportunities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching, mentoring, and engaging undergraduate students in both classroom and laboratory settings while contributing to the continued growth of the civil engineering program. The

faculty member will be expected to teach transportation engineering courses and support other areas of the curriculum based on departmental needs. The candidate will also pursue scholarly and professional activities that enhance undergraduate education and strengthen industry engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and Mentoring Teach undergraduate civil engineering courses, including courses in

transportation engineering. Teach courses in surveying, geographic information systems (GIS), and/or civil engineering materials. Support instruction in foundational civil engineering courses as needed. Develop engaging, hands-on learning experiences that emphasize conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and real-world applications. Supervise undergraduate design projects, including capstone design and

experiential learning activities. Maintain regular office hours and provide thoughtful academic and career advising. Scholarship and Professional Development Engage in scholarly or professional activities consistent with the university’s mission and focused on enhancing undergraduate education. Involve undergraduate students in research, applied projects, or scholarly activities. Present scholarly work at conferences

and/or publish in relevant journals or engineering education venues. Maintain professional engagement through participation in relevant professional societies and continuing professional development. Service Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities. Contribute to student recruitment, outreach, and industry engagement initiatives. Support ABET accreditation processes and continuous
