As the region’s primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and the clinical home of the UC San Diego Department of Pediatrics, Rady Children’s continues
to expand its impact and services. The hospital has also begun construction on a new patient tower featuring an expanded emergency department, with completion anticipated in 2028. The Division is committed to excelling in clinical care, teaching, research, quality improvement, community service, global health, and physician wellness. The Division consists of 55 PEM attending physicians, 20 Urgent Care pediatricians,
and 8 AHPs providing the majority of pediatric emergency care for San Diego County. The main campus ED has a census of 100,000+ visits per year, with 15,000+ per year at our satellite location.
