Position description The Department of Emergency Medicine (https://emergencymed.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body, and
invites applications from outstanding candidates for faculty positions in the UCSD School of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine. The Department currently operates three Emergency Departments with a combined annual census of nearly 150,000 patients, including a Level 1 Trauma Center. It has a robust residency training program and subspecialty divisions in Toxicology, Hyperbarics, EMS, Emergency Critical Care,
and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The Department also has strong extramural research funding and serves as an NIH SIREN site. The Department offers excellent opportunities for clinical service, teaching, and research at one of the nation’s top-ranked medical schools and among the most academically productive emergency departments in the country. The selected candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality
training and teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows. In addition, they will be responsible for the clinical care of patients and/or conducting research.
