Position overview Position title: Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery Faculty Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $325,000 - $425,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes

membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. You can view the 2025–26 scales on the UCOP website. Position description The University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and students. The Division seeks to

recruit academically focused surgeon–scientist(s) with a strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research in trauma and acute care surgery. The selected candidate(s) will provide high-quality clinical care in trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery; teach and mentor trainees; and develop an independent or collaborative research program aligned with the Division's academic

mission. Areas of scholarly interest may include—but are not limited to—resuscitation science, neurotrauma, injury biology, outcomes and systems research, and health disparities in acute care surgery. The selected candidate(s) may be considered for a divisional or programmatic leadership role at the discretion of the Division Chief. We welcome applications from individuals with a strong interest or emerging profile
