Department of Surgery invite applications from innovative scientists for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Applicants must have a PhD, MD, and/or an equivalent degree. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a productive research background, providing evidence of an unusual degree of creativity. This faculty position has been created to accelerate the clinical implementation of
genome editing strategies, in conjunction with the development of an integrated Center for Genome Surgery at UCSF. Therefore, a focus on development and optimization of delivery modalities, particularly non-viral tools such a lipid nanoparticles, would be advantageous to complement the existing expertise in genome editing techniques and disease mechanisms across all organs. The selected candidate will develop and
maintain a thriving independent research program and collaborate with other members of the stem cell and gene therapy communities at UCSF. Applicants must show evidence of research excellence in their field, be a strong communicator, and exhibit strength in teaching and in mentoring. The successful candidate will become a member of one or more UCSF graduate programs, such as Biomedical Sciences (BMS) and
