Position description The Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) invites applications for part-time or full-time assistant adjunct position(s) in Japanese language in the 2026-2027 academic year. Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. degree by August 2026 in applied linguistics, Japanese language/linguistics, education, language pedagogy, and/or other
language education-related areas. Three years or more of experience in teaching all levels of Japanese language courses at a university level is desirable. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 1. The salary range for this position is $84,100 - $93,000. This annual salary rate reflects a 100% appointment. The selected candidate’s salary rate will be
