Position description Assistant Adjunct Professor: Diabetes Center – Anderson lab The Diabetes Center of the University of California, San Francisco is seeking to appoint a faculty member at the Assistant Adjunct level whose research program focuses on the immunology of immune tolerance in the thymus. In particular, this work will utilize the AIre-mouse model and

other related genetic mutations to unravel the display of self antigens in the thymus and how their development is regulated. The Diabetes Center is chartered to investigate type I&II diabetes, as well as the development, differentiation and homeostasis of the cell types and tissues manifesting these diseases. Relevant research areas include: immunology/inflammation, ß-cell biology, insulin resistance, and stem

research. The appointee will occupy space in the Diabetes Center on the Parnassus campus of UCSF, and will be a member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate. The successful candidates are required to hold PhD, or MD/PhD degree, and to have a research relevant to type I or type II diabetes, and be committed to the Diabetes Center.
