Contract Length N/A Class Summary College of the Mainland is seeking Adjunct Music Instructors onsite for individual applied voice instruction and vocal ensembles. Additional classroom and online assignments may be available. This posting seeks qualified applicants to form a pool of candidates for potential ongoing need supported by enrollment. Regular Minimum Education/Training/Experience Master’s Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Music with Vocal concentration. Preferred Education/Training/Experience Applied Music and Vocal Ensemble instruction experience desired. Classroom teaching experience including, but not limited to, Sight Singing and Ear Training, general Music Appreciation courses. Minimum Knowledge & Skills Principles and practices of
teaching Applied Music lessons in voice, Vocal Ensembles, and/or general music classes.Detailed knowledge of material being taught in the specific courses and program area.Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.Basic computer literacy sufficient to perform
job duties.Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy.Experience with or willingness to learn latest teaching/learning technologies and online instruction.Record keeping procedures.
