College and department policies Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in psychology, counseling, education, behavioral health, student affairs, student development, or a related field. Strong understanding of the emotional, motivational, and developmental needs of college students. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of
respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
