this position. Job Description: Performs a full range of academic, personal, career, and transfer counseling activities with diverse student populations. These include but are not limited to, assisting college students, (which may include College Credit Plus students), in developing academic and career goals; creating and developing educational academic plans to degree/certificate completion and/or transfer;
identifying and developing strategies and skills for adapting to the educational environment, and providing academic counseling to students in academic curriculum areas. Assists with New Student Orientations by providing individual academic counseling appointments and New Student Orientation presentations. May provide crisis intervention. May teach General Studies courses and student success workshops as needed.When
teaching credit and non-credit courses:Prepares and delivers lecturers or learning activities to students on various topics in order to achieve certain outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papersMaintains student attendance records, grades and other recordsBe available to students for
coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Counseling or Social WorkOne year of secondary or post-secondary experience in counselingLicensed/Licensed-Eligible from the State of Ohio Counselor,
