Member to teach the following courses: CHEM 253: Organic Chemistry I lecture CHEM 253L: Organic Chemistry I laboratory CHEM 254: Organic Chemistry II lecture CHEM 254L: Organic Chemistry II laboratory CHEM 253/254 is a sophomore level chemistry course for a variety of STEM majors. These courses are offered in-person. The ideal candidate will be based in the Chicagoland area to work with students in a face-to-face

environment. The adjunct faculty member may work with senior economic faculty to examine current textbooks, teaching materials, and software specific to this course. Essential Instructional Responsibilities: Adjunct faculty are responsible for the following: Adhering to the university policies, procedures, and university calendar with respect to reporting information to university offices. Administering student

evaluation and timely and accurately submit the required paperwork related to instruction, including grades and course evaluations. Grading weekly assignments, responding to student emails and phone calls promptly, and providing feedback in a timely manner. Preparing course materials, including writing test questions and delivering assignments appropriate to the subject matter. Meeting with students and hosting

office hours. Adhering to the goals and objectives of the course, as guided by the Department Chair. Required Qualifications: Minimum of a Master’s degree in a chemistry-related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years of demonstrated teaching experience (experience with Canvas Learning Management System preferred) Excellent oral and written communication skills Compensation: Adjunct faculty are
