Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. EXPECTATIONS The position will be primarily dedicated to providing outstanding general gastroenterology care and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. The final candidate will be expected to provide gastroenterology consultation and endoscopy services at ambulatory sites
located in the greater Sacramento region and share in call at the UC Davis Medical Center. Educational responsibilities will include supervision of consultations and procedures by fellows, residents, and medical students as well as providing lectures to various audiences. The GI Division currently includes 27 faculty and 4 nurse practitioners, who provide services at 5 clinics and 5 ambulatory endoscopy units, with
ongoing expansion. Strengths of the division include robust programs in motility, IBD, advanced endoscopy and a new liver transplant program. Clinical research within the division is supported by the GI Clinical Research Unit which includes 8 research coordinators and staff supporting over 50 studies.
