This is a full-time 9-month faculty position that requires primarily teaching in any of the Surgical Technology classes at Laurel Ridge Community College. The faculty member would also assist with curriculum and program
development. Typical loads for full time faculty are normally 15 credit hours per semester with 10 student engagement hours required each week. Faculty members are also required to collaborate with others (full and part-time instructors) to ensure teaching uniformity and continuity of material and expectations. Collateral duties include advising, recruiting, and service on college committees. Teaching schedules may
include day and evening, weekend, on and off-campus, in person, hybrid and web delivery. Faculty members will use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies. While this position is primarily assigned to the Middletown Campus, faculty may be required to teach at any campus, as needed by the college. Faculty members are required to work to help further the goals of the college and programs and support policies
and procedures dictated by the Virginia Community College System. The successful candidate may also be required to work on developing or updating curriculum for new and existing programs. Candidates must have the required academic and professional background in Surgical Technology.
